Update #2  •   Posted 2338 day(s) ago

Our first annual Boot Camp fund raiser was a success!  We all had a great time working out while raising money for a good cause.  Thank you all for helping us to raise $1055 for Breast Cancer Research.  Together we made a difference and will continue to work towards a cure.  Special thanks to the following local businesses for donating items for us to eat and raffle:  Zest, Bollo Salon, Kim&Co and Beauty Counter.

"Meeting Adversity with strength"-Kim Bollo's Story

Update #1  •   Posted 2364 day(s) ago

In 2005 Kim Bollo age 35, (wife to Steven and Mother to 3 year old Mario and pregnant with her second child Gianluca) discovered a lump in her breast during her third trimester.    She was diagnosed with aggressive HER2-positive cancer.  Two months after giving birth she had a double masectomy.  This would be the first of three surgeries in two and half years.

Chemotherapy was difficult for Kim causing her to feel lethargic.  In order to stay positive and get through this tough period in her life she exercised daily, ate healthy,  and drank lots of water to stay hydrated.

Kim Recognized the importance of a healthy and positive mind set. She fought negative thoughts and feelings and became her own advocate doing whatever made her feel good and positive.

Today Kim is a stronger person and a better wife and mother due to her diagnosis.

Kim is a survivor of breast cancer.
